Ein Sof Gallery unveils a new exhibition featuring two London-based artists and their individual reckonings with poetry, emotions and the ephemeral aspects of the human condition.
Julia Holt is predominantly a painter, working in oil paint and ink, however, she also enjoys printmaking, writing poetry and appreciates the meditative art of bookmaking. She completed an MA Fine Art with distinction in August 2022 and now works from her studio in Hertfordshire in the UK and is a member of Digswell Arts Print Studio. Her work as a painter involves looking closely at a sense of exile experienced by people of the diaspora. Researching her own culture and the scattering of the Jews many thousands of years ago has led her to explore historical narratives that surround cultural traditions including dance, language and beautiful ancient Hebrew poetry which she interprets into paint. Julia tends to produce work in sets or suites of at least three or more pieces of work at a time. This is so that she can capture the moment and atmosphere in the same instant, therefore expressing the same temperament and feeling in the entire body of work.
Hava Stone is a London based, contemporary artist whose work is reflective of inner strength, courage and creativity. Psychotherapist turned artist, Hava completed her MA in counselling and psychotherapy in 2022 whilst already exhibiting her artwork in London exhibitions. One of her recent projects involved creating a resin art Aron Kodesh (Ark) for the Jewish life centre of Elstree and Borehamwood. Drawing on her background in psychology and exploring the human condition, Hava works with the flow of emotion and epoxy resin to express and process raw human experiences; from vibrancy to the void. In the short time since she has immersed herself in art, she has become an icon of creating bold, vibrant and meaningful art. Her work explores both the vibrant emotions associated with joy and change, inspired by the changing seasons in the natural world, and also steps into the more subtle and complex emotional experiences, giving space for the void when seeking peace, love and inspiration.
