On Saturday evening, 12th of April 2025, Seder night was celebrated at the iconic Boiler House of the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. With the funky shops and shows taking place along the street, the curry houses offering authentic culenary experiences, and the nostalgia of the Jewish East End, the backdrop for a authentic and uplifing Seder night was set.
130 people from all walks of life joined the Seder, the evening began with buffet first course and then after the 1st cup of wine and Hagaddah was read, and hand baked Ukrainian Shemura Matza was eaten, the waiters served the main course of Beef Goulash, Grilled Pargiot, Ratatouille and Potato Kugel, and then dessert of chocolate mousse.

The post event participant survey included 50% of respondents saying if not for the Seder on Brick Lane, my Seder night 'would have not celebrated'.
A big thank you to the hosts, Old Truman Brewery and a number of private donors for making this event possible.
Other Chabad Islington Passover activities this year included included a children's Matzah bake-off attended by 5 families, 'Seder in a box' packages sent to 15 households and a Passover finale Moshiach Banquet with inspirational stories and songs to conclude the festival.
