Celebrate the first night of Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights, with the entire Islington community at this annual free event.

A brand new Chanukiah, nine-branched Menorah, will be specially created this year by the Jewish community of Islington during collaborative workshops with local artists. So come and witness the ceremony of unveiling and lighting this very special Menorah, listen to live klezmer music, sing traditional songs, play dreidel, dance to the hottest Jewish tunes, make your own candles with the Jewish Museum and marvel at spectacular light performances.
And last but not least: there will be hundreds of free latkes, doughnuts, Chanukah gelt and hot cocoa for everyone to tuck into!
This is the eighth time Chabad Islington hosts the Menorah Lighting at Islington Green. Last years’ celebrations attracted crowds of up to 1000 people, bringing together Jewish and non-Jewish members of Islington community.
The Islington Menorah Lighting is supported by Islington Council and hosted by Chabad Islington. This event is free and open to all - please join with your family, friends and neighbours!
