Private View: POETRY OF THE VOID

Ein Sof Gallery unveils a new exhibition featuring two London-based artists and their individual reckonings with poetry, emotions and the ephemeral aspects of the human condition.

Julia Holt is predominantly a painter, working in oil paint and ink, however, she also enjoys printmaking, writing poetry and appreciates the meditative art of bookmaking. She completed an MA Fine Art with distinction in August 2022 and now works from her studio in Hertfordshire in the UK and is a member of Digswell Arts Print Studio. Her work as a painter involves looking closely at a sense of exile experienced by people of the diaspora. Researching her own culture and the scattering of the Jews many thousands of years ago has led her to explore historical narratives that surround cultural traditions including dance, language and beautiful ancient Hebrew poetry which she interprets into paint.
