About the event
Celebrate the first night of Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights, with the entire community at our annual extravaganza in the heart of Islington.
Come and witness the ceremony of lighting the nine-branch Menorah, sing traditional songs, dance to the electro klezmer set by the collective GhettoPlotz, make your own candles with the Jewish Museum and shadow puppets with the Little Angel Theatre. There will also be hundreds of free latkes, doughnuts, Chanukah gelt and hot cocoa for everyone to tuck into!
This is the tenth time Chabad Islington hosts the Menorah Lighting at Islington Green. The Islington Menorah Lighting has grown to become the second-biggest public menorah lighting in the UK, bringing together Jewish and non-Jewish members of the community, from Islington and beyond.
The Islington Menorah Lighting is supported by Islington Council and hosted by Chabad Islington. This event is free and open to all - please join…
